I take photos of very ordinary things and magnify them until they become very interesting. This is the tip of a cheap ballpoint pen. The ink was black, but at high magnification, the thin film looks dark purple and blue.

Did you know that China did not have the technology to make the nib that holds the ball required for ballpoint pens until 2017?

Did you know that most ball point pens are made in China. However, up until very recently the Chinese manufactures didn’t know how to make the tiny ball and had to import them from abroad.

This is not interesting. I can see it with the naked eye. The name also hints that there might be a ball at the point of the pen.
